Microgammon is a 2/3rds scale version of the ancient game of backgammon game. Both games have four quadrants comprised of home boards and outer boards, however while backgammon has 6 points per quadrant Microgammon has only 4 points per quadrant and while backgammon is played with 15 checkers, Microgammon is played with only 10 checkers. Finally, while backgammon is played using dice with sides numbered from 1-6, Microgammon is played with dice having sides numbered from 1-4. Thus in every aspect, Microgammon is 2/3rds the size of a traditional backgammon game. Other than that physical difference, Microgammon is played by the same rules.
